The national park stretches from Agger in the south to Hanstholm in the north.

This is an area filled with extraordinary nature experiences. At sunrise, you may hear the roar of a red deer stag during the rutting season or encounter the common crane, Europe's tallest bird.

Watch thousands of geese migrate across the landscape, forage for edible treasures ranging from delicate mushrooms and berries to aromatic herbs, and witness the sun setting into the sea beyond Denmark’s largest wilderness area.

In Thy, nature is part of everyday life. We move comfortably through the heather-covered hills, cycle along winding trails between dunes and forests, surf the waves, sail on the fjord, and find shelter among the marram grass.

• Thy National Park was established in 2008 and became the first national park of its kind in Denmark.
• Thy is home to some of Europe’s largest continuous coastal dune heathlands. Wind and sand constantly shape the landscape, ensuring that nature is always changing.
• Surrounded by the North Sea and the Limfjord, the area contains numerous lakes and wetlands that provide habitats for fish, birds, and amphibians alike.
• You may be lucky enough to spot red deer, white-tailed eagles, and rare birds such as cranes. The national park is an important habitat for both breeding and migratory species.
